Our orphans move from war zone to the glory zone in less than two months. It is truly a miracle to see what God has done when you consider they barely escaped with little more than the clothes on their back.
Just two days ago I hosted our monthly ministerial meeting and John Mark was on the call. With his permission I’ve recorded his testimony. I love the joy I hear. It was only months ago I’d hear “pray for us, the bombing and shooting has started again and we are very afraid.” For the last three years I’ve heard this over and over again.
It is important to understand, I remember getting a call from them when their country was taken over right after Biden was set into office. While I don’t want to make this political, it is important to understand, I’ve never seen a foreign people so concerned about our elections. Why? They knew if Trump was not put back in office, it would be very bad for them. Why? Under Trump the US still acted as a deterrent.
Within 10 days of Biden’s installment, the Junta took over Myanmar and they were backed by China. How do we know? That’s because they reported that on their news. When I got the call from John Mark, they were hiding, trying to flee the fighting. Many ministers left the country then. Shortly thereafter, the Junta bombed our house of prayer which John Mark help establish and they shot one of his elderly intercessors. In spite of all this, John Mark and Sophia decided to return because of the orphans.
They did not want to flee, but were finally forced to in order to protect these children from being forced into the military. Here’s the first public report I shared about their upcoming move in the middle of February, click here. With that in mind, they left a home, a truck/van and three motorcycles, a boys dorm and a girls dorm behind. They left with little more than the clothes on their backs. Now, that is the context for this testimony today. At one point last week, I heard John Mark says, “it is like we are living in the kingdom of God.” Now, they’ve been persecuted there. They’ve had people try to take advantage of them, hate them, thrown stones at them…. but God! We have seen so many amazing answered prayers and I wanted to share this with all of you. Especially those who have partnered with us through prayer and resources. This is truly a glorious kingdom work.
