The Propaganda War
Apostolic Perspectives explored the propaganda war this month with John Anderson, the CEO of Global Development Partners. John also serves as a member of KLI’s apostolic council of elders.
In a culture war, he who controls the language controls the lay of the land. Our adversary, Satan, the accuser of the brethren and the father of lies is a master mainpulator in the use of words to create a faux moral highground. That’s very important in a culture war.
Propaganda according to Britannica means, ideas or statements that are often false or exaggerated and that are spread in order to help a cause, a political leader, a government, etc. This has been used in politics and business for centuries. But the truth is, the roots go back to a spiritual war. A war between good and evil, truth and lies, between God and Satan.
With this in mind, I look forward to dialouging with John in a discussion about recognizing and avoiding propaganda, emphasizing the importance of speaking truth in love as believers. John is going to introduce several questions to challenge us about recognizing bias, explaining complex ideas simply, and developing skills to discern truth. The ability to discern the veracity of the information plays a critical role in making good decisions.
Incorrect information wether shared inocently or with malice impacts a leaders ability to make good decisions that lead to effective results. It can also impact how we frame our questions to the LORD as we seek Him for wisdom and righteousness in decision-making, rather than relying solely on human perception.

John Barker who chairs KLI’s government council added the day after:
My friend Mike Smith produced these documentaries which address propaganda at the highest levels…entertainment, politics, money, evil. Propaganda in a crude name breakdown is ‘proposed agenda’.
Recommends watching, “Out of the Shadows” (2020) first and “Out of the Shadows Into the Light” (2024) second.
